About Faces Of Change: Faces Of Change is a collaborative collection of music from some of the top artist in the DMV. The project was put together by Javier Starks as a way to showcase both himself and his peers. The event will feature artist from the project performing songs from current and past projects for a great cause. Donations from the Event will go to Powell House Project 501©(3) and the Community organization DC Or Nothing. Come out and meet a few great artists, people, and give back to the Washington, D.C. community.
“But Substantial, who the hell is Javier Starks?!” Well besides being one of the nicer human beings you’ll meet and a darn good skater, he’s arguably one of the nicest up & coming MCs the DMV has to offer. Peace World. This post is a little late due to the fact that I’m now on vacation after touring Japan & Taiwan. But I’m sure by now some of you know what’s up already. For those who don’t, yesterday, we released our new project, The R & R (Remixes & Revisions).
The R & R, is the new release from Bop Alloy (Substantial & Marcus D). It features remixes of many of the songs from our debut album, Substantial & Marcus D are Bop Alloy. Instrumental Version also available on Bandcamp.
The R & R is available digitally and on compact disc. It features remixes by veteran producers, Funky DL, K-Murdock (of Panacea), & Joe.D, while also including remixes from up & coming producers such as LASTorder, Bolo, J-zen and myself, Substantial. Guest appearances include: yU (of Diamond District), Gods’Illa, Wordsmith, Kokayi, Steph the Sapphic Songstress, Javier Starks, Justis, Nate Vibez, & Peter Lee Johnson.
